Humanities Editor Jane Elliott is Lecturer in the Department of English and Related Literature at the University of York. She came to York from a postdoctoral fellowship at the Pembroke Center at Brown University. Her first book, Popular Feminist Fiction as American Allegory: Representing National Time, was published in August 2008 by Palgrave, and her essays have also appeared in Cultural Critique, Modern Fiction Studies, Novel and the PMLA.
Social Science Editor Nikki Jones is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Between Good and Ghetto, her first book, was published in 2009. Jones also co-edited two collections, both published in 2010: Fighting for Girls: New Perspectives on Gender and Violence, edited with Meda Chesney Lind, and Sociologists Backstage: Answers to 10 Questions About What They Do,with Sarah Fenstermaker. Executive Editor Heather Tirado Gilligan holds a Ph.D. in English and an M.J. from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She worked as visiting faculty at the University of California, Santa Barbara before leaving academia for journalism. Heather’s writing has appeared in scholarly journals including English Literary History as well as magazines, newspapers and websites such as The Progressive, The Huffington Post and Real Clear Politics.
